Whither Bangaru Telangana? City turns a hub for land, sand & drug mafia: Ponguleti
Instead of becoming Bangaru Telangana, the State has become a hub for land mafia, adulteration, sand mafia and a center for drugs mafia, Congress MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy has alleged.
Speaking to the media at Assembly Hall here today, Ponguleti bemoaned that over 1,000 students were addicted to drugs in the capital city. He demanded that the State government take the issue very seriously and curb the menace. Ponguleti alleged that students of 14 colleges and 19 schools were under the influence of drugs. Expressing shock at the international links of drug mafia, he said it’s time for the Chief Minister to curb the drug mafia with iron hand. He suggested to the State government to take help of Interpol and NSA to curb the drugs mafia in the State considering the problem seriously. He also stated that the situation in the State was alarming as international drugs mafia was freely operating in Hyderabad and supplying drugs like LSD and MDM brands to all including even innocent school children.
Demanding that the State government monitor health conditions in the Agency areas by appointing task force committee, Ponguleti asked the government to appoint DMHO to Bhadradri Kothagudem district. Faulting the State government for allocating Rs 6 crore instead of Rs 200 crore as directed by the Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Rajani bench of High Court for renovation of Osmania General Hospital, Ponguleti demanded that the government immediately release allotted funds to Osmania General Hospital for repairs.
Ponguleti also condemned the illegal arrests of farmers in Khammam on Wednesday. He alleged that the police arrested the farmers at the instance of local MLA. He also condemned attack on Veeraswami of Chilakalguda by Seethaphalmandi corporator Hema and her followers.
